It appears Facebook has drawn a line in the sand.
It’s fine for organizations like Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA to promote content encouraging a war on police… but if you promote content that highlights the positive stories of police officers, your ad account will be shut down.
This morning, I woke up to an email from Facebook that my ad account was terminated for “violating policies”.
The thing is… the only promotions I was trying to run were in support of law enforcement.
One of those promotions was the video capturing the story of Sgt. Carla, a police officer with the Coral Springs PD who responded to the Parkland school shooting. In the video, she talks about the tragedy and how her department is trying to implement new training to help teachers save lives.
The other video was the launch of a new series called “Thin Blue Blood”, where Houston Gass – a police officer shot in the line of duty – interviews other police officers who were also wounded.
No warnings. No “Facebook jail time”.
Just an ad account entirely deleted.
Now before you ask, it’s worth pointing out that the ad account IS authorized “to run ads on topics of national importance”. And the ad account hasn’t been given any warnings previous to this.
Interesting timing. Just weeks before a crucial election… yet another page promoting law and order is attacked by Facebook.
