Today we ask The Whiskey Patriots family to unite in prayer.

Kevin Quinn was returning home from visiting his wife Kara Sullivan and their newborn daughter a little after midnight on Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital.

He was no doubt filled with the joy and happiness of being a new father.

At the same time… a Mashpee police officer was chasing a Toyota that was speeding and driving erratically.

Two minutes later, the chase ended… when the car smashed head-on into the SUV driven by Kevin Quinn.

The 32-year-old from Mashpee had survived two combat tours as a Marine in Afghanistan… only to be taken from this world by a 2000 Toyota driven by 22-year-old Mickey Rivera of Fall River.  Rivera and his passenger, 24-year-old Jocelyn Goyette of New Bedford, were both thrown from their vehicle.

Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene and Goyette is in critical condition at the hospital.

Kevin and his wife, Kara, married last year and were celebrating the birth of their first child. Quinn was supposed to return to the hospital later on Saturday to bring them home.

There’s a GoFundMe set up to help his wife and child.

Brothers and sisters, we are on this earth for just a blink.  Please, pray for Kevin Quinn and his family… and hold your own family a little tighter and a little longer tonight.
