“Enjoy your first. You will never forget.”
This was the note that a New Jersey police officer left for his waitress along with a $100 tip when he found out she was pregnant with her first child.
The officer made the tip at the Lamp Post Diner in the Gloucester Township but wishes to remain anonymous. The bill total had come to just $8.75, but that didn’t stop the officer from making an incredible gesture.
The waitress’s father, Brian Cadigan, took to Facebook to thank the officer and give some props to police across America.
“You always hear about how bad the police are… Yes I am sure there are some bad apples, but most of them are just doing their jobs, they deal with the worst of society every day and have to keep going back every day and deal with it all over again. They risk their lives each day just to do their job,” said Cadigan in his post.
Cadigan’s daughter is 7 months pregnant but is trying to work to save as much money as possible before the baby comes.
Cadigan wants others to recognize the random act of kindness given so generously by an officer who surely isn’t rolling in the dough.
He spoke with Fox News in an exclusive interview.
“We love our police officers, and they are always cast in a bad light, sometimes justifiably,” he told Fox News. “I’m just glad that people see that they are real live human beings behind the badge, and strive to do good.”
This cop just gave a whole new meaning to ‘anonymous tip.’
